Final Week Capstone Project
I had a lot of fun doing this project. I learned a lot about guitar and music theory, as well as how I learn best and stay focused on a long project like this. Over the course of the last 4 weeks I've spent more time playing guitar consistently than I had in the 4 months prior, most likely. It was a challenge, no doubt, but it was a good experience to try to find new ways to get better. While there are teachers and curriculums, there is no specific rule book for how to get better at something like guitar. There are different ways you can improve, and I think that's what made this project so fun. I definitely recommend others try this project. While it may seem more convenient or organized to follow a pre-made curriculum of guitar learning material, I think the freedom to find your own material and the challenge that comes with that is a really good experience. I think with the eclectic resources I used, I was able to reach my goal of learning about guitar and music theory, while improving my playing skills. I could do this largely due to the help from my guitar teacher, Lara Michell. Having a teacher like that is very helpful in a project like this, as it gives you somewhere to start and keep you on track in your learning. I've attached my final project presentation, which includes my final video.
It is great to hear about how much you have learned about guitar and about learning in general. I clicked on the video in your presentation, but it I need permission. Please change the settings. I want to see it!!!!
